Pattaya Service anything for you...Welcome to http:www.theirishmanbar.com

Being St. Patrick’s Day we decided to visit one of Pattaya’s growing number of Irish bars and restaurants

It is the very popular Irishman Bar, located on Drinking Street , opposite the famous Tiffany Theatre .

The Irishman Bar has been around for 3 years and is owned and run by Mr. Billy Muir from Bangor in Northern Ireland

The cozy spacious bar and restaurant is laid out in typical Irish fashion with its booths and tables and will seat 140 customers inside and out in the cool terrace area.

The walls are covered in witty quotes from famous Irishman, together with a good collection of Irish Soccer and Rugby Shirts, and personally signed by Irish sport’s stars. Indeed one regular Irishcustomer from Belfast insisted that The Irishman was “home away from home” as he sipped away at his pint of cold draught Guinness.

Which, by the way will cost you 219 baht a pint; it is very refreshing and tastes excellent.

They also offer very good value drinks especially with the unique Irishman Bucket of Beer, which includes 5 bottles of one’s favourite beers such as San Miguel, Tiger, Singh and Chang for 300 baht.

A bucket of ice cold Heineken costs 350 baht, The Irishman offers its customers a full size pool table and free unlimited use of the Internet and also free use of international calls to Irish land lines.

The Irishman also organizes golf outings every Wednesday to the Burapha Golf Course and is available for special parties and functions.

Although predominantly a bar the food at The Irishman is well worth going along to try out.

The menu has a very good selection of snacks, breakfast and main dishes, including Thai food.

The All Day Irish Breakfast is excellent value at 150 baht and includes eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, mushrooms and toast.

If it’s just a snack you require then try the home made Green pea and ham Soup (85 baht) which goes perfect with an excellent steak sandwich served with home made chips for 225 baht.

The home made Burgers were highly recommended by a customer.

Indeed, the Cheese and Bacon Burger he was eating looked very good. The burgers range from 170 to 240 baht.

There is also a range of main dishes including Steaks such as T-Bone, Sirloin an Fillet Mignon, all at 450 baht.

There are a good number of meat dishes such as Rack of Ribs (295 baht), Chicken Cordon Blue, chicken breast with ham and cheese for 225 baht and Beef and Guinness Pie (250 baht), which is a bowl full of tender chunks of beef and vegetables in delicious Guinness gravy.

We ordered five dishes from the menu. First we sampled the Fish and Chips (300 baht).

This was two generous portions of tender Cod fillets served with home made chips and tartar sauce.

Then we tried a juicy Fillet Mignon Steak with French Fries and salad, followed by tasty Chicken Wings in a spicy Thai sauce (120 baht).

The we had the popular All Day Breakfast, which was a platter filled with pork sausages, back bacon, fried eggs, grilled tomato, baked beans and fried bread.

Finally, we were served the specialty of the house, Irish Stew (295 baht).

A bowl full of vegetables and chunks of tender beef cooked in a deliciously creamy thick sauce.

This was indeed a very satisfying meal!

So, on St, Patrick’s Day, Billy, wife Malairat and their staff welcomes every one alone to celebrate from 11.00am with great food, music and a live band.

On the day and throughout March there will be special promotions going on such as reduced prices for draught Guinness from 219 baht down to 150 baht a pint and Jameson’s Irish Whiskey from 120 baht to 70 baht a glass.

There will be great prizes throughout the day, especially the chance to bid at the Charity Auction for  a very rare Irish Five Pound note with a portrait of the famous Irish Footballer George Best.

If it’s a real Irish bar on is looking for then go along to The Irishman.
